LOS ATALAJES ECUESTRES A LA RONDEÑA, PROCLAMADOS VALOR PATRIMONIAL, CULTURAL Y ETNOGRÁFICO DE LA COMARCA NATURAL DE LA SERRANÍA DE RONDA 

En la Fiesta de Ronda Romántica, se inaugurará un mosaico de azulejos conmemorativo.

El Ayuntamiento de Ronda en sesión plenaria celebrada ayer, 27 de marzo, adoptó dicho acuerdo referido  a una declaración institucional en la que se reconoce esta forma de vestir a las caballerías como Patrimonio Cultural y Etnográfico de nuestra tierra y que lleva el apelativo “a la Rondeña”.

“La Fiesta de «RONDA ROMÁNTICA», como recreación histórica de una época memorable de la Real Feria de Mayo de Ronda, concedida por la Reina Juana I desde 1509, ha supuesto, sin duda, un revulsivo para la recuperación y uso de la Indumentaria y Atalajes ecuestres a la Rondeña, así como el conocimiento de la forma de usanza con corrección de estas prendas, de acuerdo con las costumbres de nuestra Comarca Natural y otros territorios vecinos.

La denominación «a la Rondeña» a este tipo de ropaje ecuestre y vestimenta romántica, le viene por concentrarse y pervivir aquí, debido a la celebración de la Real Feria de Mayo de Ronda, la gran festividad de Andalucía, durante siglos y hasta el último cuarto del siglo XIX, esta manera de vestir a las caballerías y arrierías realizados en talabartería de la lona, zalga, badana, cuero, paja, centeno, lana, algodón y estambre cosidos con tramillas de cáñamo. Que conforman diversas piezas o aparejos como: el cabezal, adaptado a una jáquima, el pecho-petral, atajarres y un ropón de fiesta. Acoplándose todo ello, tanto a la carona como a la albarda. Así como la manta bandolera o mulera. 

Pero se hace necesario dar un paso más, ya que, hasta mediados del siglo pasado, existía un buen número de talabarteros y albardoneros serrano-rondeños, que hoy y a duras penas se ha reducido a dos. Debido, principalmente, al desuso en las labores del campo y en las festividades, manteniéndose algo de ello en los trabajos de la extracción del corcho, que por la dificultad orográfica de nuestras sierras, se mantiene en la arriería necesaria para su transporte. 

Ronda y la Serranía debemos trabajar conjuntamente para que esta artesanía tradicional no se pierda, al igual, lógicamente, que el oficio de estos auténticos sastres de caballerías y acémilas, ya que se trata de un patrimonio cultural y etnográfico propio, de enorme belleza e identificativo de nuestra tierra de la que lleva su nombre: «A la Rondeña».

Este grandísimo patrimonio nuestro necesita un reconocimiento por parte todos y especialmente nuestros ayuntamientos serrano-rondeños, que reconozcan su valía y preservación para que no extinga, se arbitre las medidas necesarias para su preservación y formación reglada, como un oficio de gran futuro para el uso de esta vestimenta y aparejos en fiestas, paseos a caballos y lucimiento de las caballerías, orgullo de todos. Por lo que se hace más que necesario llevar a cabo por el Consistorio de Ronda y los pueblos de nuestra Serranía realizar esta declaración institucional para que LOS ATALAJES ECUESTRES A LA RONDEÑA, SEAN PROCLAMADOS COMO VALOR PATRIMONIAL, CULTURAL Y ETNOGRÁFICO DE LA COMARCA NATURAL DE LA SERRANÍA DE RONDA, y así conste para siempre.
